The Everly Brothers Essentials

The Everly Brothers Essentials

In the late ’50s, Don and Phil Everly took their seductive blend of country, pop and R&B to the Cadence label, which then introduced America to two of its finest pop voices. Their string of hits had serious staying power, but their incredible harmonies on singles such as “Bye Bye Love”, “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “Wake Up Little Susie” changed the sound of music forever. The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Linda Ronstadt and countless others would sound very different had the Everlys never existed. In 1960, the boys switched to Warner Bros., where the big chart hits (“Cathy’s Clown”, “Crying in the Rain”) continued until ’67. They were among the original Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and no other duo has had more Top 100 hits.
