Steve Wynn Essentials

Steve Wynn first gained notice as the leader of The Dream Syndicate, a Los Angeles band whose '82 debut The Days of Wine and Roses got an entire generation of post-punk kids interested in The Velvet Underground and Neil Young. Though initially affiliated with the local Paisley Underground scene, three more albums added a rootsy, country-tinged sound to Wynn's songs. Stepping into a solo career in the early '90s, the Californian continued exploring his by-now trademark sound of noirish lyrics with a pulp fiction feel, meshed to old-school guitar-based rock.
