Along with artists like Brian Eno and Jon Hassell, composer Steve Roach has been one of the key innovators in ambient music for more than three decades. Inspired by Eno's early experiments and the pioneering electronic music of Krautrock groups like Tangerine Dream, he launched his career in the early '80s. Over the years, the wildly prolific Roach released dozens of albums. He has been a consistent explorer of electronic soundscapes, and has also developed a highly influential style that introduces ambient to the polyrhythms of world music.
