Saravah: A Label on the Cutting Edge

Saravah Records has been pushing the envelope of French music since the mid-'60s. Early on, their avant-garde credo was seized upon by indie darlings like singer Brigitte Fontaine, releasing compelling experiments in delicate, sparse instrumentation. Other Saravah artists, like Pierre Akendengue, weave Brazilian and African rhythms into their stripped-back jazz compositions.
