Crossing paths at jazz school in Brussels proved fateful for singer Matthew Irons, drummer Egil Franzen and bassist Romain Descampe (from England, Sweden and France respectively). They formed Puggy in 2004 and released their debut album three years later. Known to offset their laddish swagger with sweet harmonies and strong guitars with smooth synths, Puggy combine the zip of sophisticated European dance-rock and the zest of Britpop. The result is a bank of songs that have a playful and irrepressible energy.
