Hooking up with the Mafia K'1 Fry hip-hop collective, Niro began with features and mixtapes on their Street Lourd label. His gnarly verses and gangsta swagger came together on debut album Paraplégique in '12, and he's since risen to prominence in the French street rap movement, with musical ambition to match: the epic choral samples and big drops in his sound hammer home the constant battle of street life. Ensuing releases demonstrate his versatility, with evocative, melodic trap and softer chat that's tinged with pop, as well as aggressive, dirty double-time beats for his rolling flow.
