Uzoechi Osisioma “MNEK” Emenike is a pop songwriter whose first impulse is to fill a dance floor. His compositions are soulful, lithe explorations of love with pugnacious swabs of bass, and their poise and power have caught the ear of a wide range of high-profile artists including Stormzy, Beyoncé and Madonna. Already signed as a songwriter two years before he released a record under his own name, he first started making waves working on tracks for The Saturdays and Little Mix in the early 2010s, swiftly followed by collaborative chart hits with Duke Dumont and Zara Larsson (“Never Forget You”).
