Lamb of God's attack grows more hellish the further one ventures into their recordings. From their Burn the Priest days, “Bloodletting” nears blackened death metal in its flailing, face-ripping screech, while “Pariah” oozes nihilism in cruel, choking power chords and Randy Blythe's hate-fuelled lyrics. “Vigil” is another bruiser, as the band deploy grinding riffs that are pure sludge.
