Jethro Tull: Influences

Jethro Tull: Influences

Jethro Tull's sound interweaves roots that could only have flowered in the late-'60s progressive-rock scene. The scorching blues runs of Cream and Iron Butterfly act as a central trunk up which Procol Harum–style pastoral prog tunes and capricious folk melodies (of the sort favoured by The Incredible String Band) ascend, garlanded with Roland Kirk–style jazz flute.
