Born in Toulouse to parents of French and Madagascan heritage, Jain experienced a nomadic childhood. The myriad sounds and styles she encountered have become part of her lively musical mix. Inspired by her formative teen years in the Congo, “Come” is set to a backdrop of ear-popping African rhythms. Arabic-influenced melodies drawn from her time in Dubai and Abu Dhabi make for intricate rhythmic earworms. There are homages to hip-hop (“Dynabeat”) and a song named for South African icon Miriam Makeba (“Makeba”), all of which make Jain's catalogue a truly global affair.
