Gabriella Ferri Essentials

While Gabriella Ferri’s singing career might have begun in a Milan nightclub, it was in Rome where her star really took flight. By the mid-1960s, she had become a symbol of Romanesco singing with her performances of some of the Eternal City’s most beloved songs. She is perhaps best remembered for her deeply soulful rendition of “Sempre”, but she also turned her rich vocals and emotive delivery to stirring songs such as “La società dei magnaccioni” and “Barcarolo romano”. Ferri sang Neapolitan and Latin American pieces too, and she branched out into television acting in the 1970s.
