Don Henley Essentials

Don Henley can get criticised for being too serious, but he probably wouldn't have it any other way. When he's not being an Eagle he writes songs that tackle big social and political issues, whether it's the excesses of capitalism or his gripes with the press. And he generally stays away from the Eagles' brand of country-rock, in favour of a keyboard-heavy pop/rock approach. In fact, the most Eagles-like track he's recorded solo may be “Leather & Lace,” a duet he sang with Stevie Nicks for her solo debut. Henley largely shelved his solo career when The Eagles got back together.
