Multi-instrumentalist Calogero Maurici was the frontman for French rockers Les Charts before embarking on a solo career with debut album Au Milieu des Autres in 1999. The singer/songwriter combines tender vocals and a keening falsetto with a bright, driving and muscular pop-rock sound. 2002's breakthrough single "En Apesanteur" saw Calogero leap to nationwide attention, and he's gone on to rack up a succession of hit albums in his homeland while packing out stadiums—the only venues capable of containing his indomitable sound.
