Blind Willie McTell didn't let his disability keep him from becoming a great American bluesman. He learned to read and write music in Braille, eventually developing a signature style of 12-string fingerpicking. McTell's songs became standards during the ‘60s blues revival, and became staples of the rock repertoire thanks to The Allman Brothers Band. In the 21st century, bands like The White Stripes were still covering his tunes, illustrating his enduring influence.
