About The Wooden Birds

An even more airy complement to Andrew Kenny's other group, American Analog Set, the Wooden Birds, formed while AAS was on hiatus, revel in high-as-Byrds pop stretched out to its drifting lo-fi limits. The Wooden Birds congregated upon Kenny's return to Austin, Texas, after a sojourn in Brooklyn, and there's an unmistakable Southern lilt to the band's wistful, winsome elegies, an overheated stroll cut by an urban indie pop stride. The quartet built an internet buzz with its 2009 debut, MAGNOLIA.
