In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember the first time I realised I could sing. I was 4 and a teacher asked me to solo on a hymn. My mum was in the audience and didn’t know I could sing either. She was pretty shocked I think. From then on, I pretty much sang every day. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? MJ Lenderman, Boat Songs Sufjan Stevens, Carrie & Lowell MJ's album is newer, but I’ve been obsessed since the day I heard it. His music is perfect for my ears, sonically and songwriting style. I think Sufjan is a genius, an artist I feel I’ve grown up with so his music will always mean a lot to me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Brooklyn” About my friend who moved to NYC to start a new life. I left Europe for the first time to surprise her on her bday and I ended up begging her to come home. The song tells a real story from my life so it will always be special to me and my friend. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The Lumineers played a huge outdoor show in London (25k people, totally sold out). The opener of the show dropped at the last minute and I was asked to play. When I walked on the stage I was completely overwhelmed, but the show was amazing! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One that springs to mind is that I would love to play an NPR Tiny Desk. I’d probably be so nervous I’d puke, but I think it would be such an awesome experience and I can’t imagine seeing myself against that famous backdrop. It would be very cool!
