Inspired by Green Day’s early touring days—and the title of their 1997 album—Nimrods is a movie that follows a young band on a road trip from Kansas City to Los Angeles in their quest to open for, well, Green Day. The soundtrack includes contributions from Analog Dogs, Mckenna Grace and The Paradox—not to mention 23 songs from Green Day themselves. Most of the platinum punk trio’s major hits are present and accounted for, along with four previously unreleased live tracks from a 2025 show at the Palladium in Los Angeles that was shot specifically for the film. The biggest surprise is the new studio track “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.”, which channels Elvis Presley’s 1957 smash “Jailhouse Rock”.
