When Los Tetas formed in Chile in 1994, the world was overrun with grunge bands getting heavy. The band decided to take the road less travelled, laying down funky grooves that fused soul, big band, and hip-hop. The quartet blew up throughout Latin America, even sharing a stage with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Over four studio albums, Los Tetas blended smooth rhymes with almost psychedelic textures, creating captivating songs—and laying down infectious jams packed with mammoth bass lines and wah-wah guitars. Even without a studio album in over a decade, Los Tetas continue to be a funky force.
