In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory was hearing the first 4 bars of the "Moonlight Sonata" and going to the piano to figure out how to play the chords before I even knew what a "chord" was. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Keith Jarrett, The Köln Concert (Live) Nina Simone, Little Girl Blue (Remastered) Steve Reich Ensemble, Reich: Music for 18 Musicians Nina's playing on this album is some of my favorite jazz. "Music for 18 Musicians" taught me how to breathe in composition. The first movement of the "Koln Concert" is the track I have listened to most in my life. How to make simple changes dynamic. She taught me to improvise tonally with four frequency knobs, on four different oscillators, at the same time, by hand. The piano improvisation was first take right over the modular synth.
