Formed in 1986 by Andrey Litjagin, Moscow's Mirazh managed to capture the political and cultural zeitgeist sweeping through the Soviet Union like no other musical act at the time. Confident, freewheeling and playful, the Eurodance pop group's debut, The Stars Await Us, combined the energetic disco and electro-rock elements of the era (made popular by the likes of Modern Talking and Bad Boys Blue) with the striking operatic vocals of Margarita Suhankina.
