About Kenny Foster

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My cousin Steve playing Led Zeppelin on an old Fender in his Arkansas doublewide bedroom blew my young mind. Pulling into our midwestern garage, house shaking, walking in seeing dad, eyes closed, sitting in front of his Toby speakers. Music Matters. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dashboard Confessional, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most James Taylor, James Taylor: Greatest Hits Third Eye Blind, Out of the Vein I am a product of alt rock, dad's old vinyl, and raw teenage angst. I needed to windows down scream, I needed to emote to everyone (and no one in particular), and once I calmed down, what I needed most was to feel understood. These did all of that. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Somewhere in Middle America” This was the summation of a years' long project of mine trying to encapsulate what growing up in small-town middle America meant to me then and now. It's raw, pulls no punches, and this tune was the title track of that magnum opus record for me.
