Wilson Pickett: The '60s

Apple Music

Wilson Pickett's work with top writers and musicians like Don Covay, Steve Cropper and Duane Allman defined the hard-edged sound of southern soul. After cutting the 1962 R&B hit “I Found a Love” with The Falcons, Pickett went solo. Signing with the legendary Stax records and recording in both Memphis and Muscle Shoals, his soulful 45s started crossing over to the pop charts in the mid-'60s.
