Whitechapel Essentials

Whitechapel have done as much as any band of evil-worshipping heathens to help put deathcore on the extreme metal map. They obliterate the divide between metalcore and death metal thanks to a cruelly rendered collision of bowel-bursting grunts, gnarled breakdowns and axe solos that scream across the night sky like wraiths. The American outfit also boast a potent experimental streak. As 2016's Mark of the Blade demonstrates, their touch is a deft one when it comes to incorporating elements of industrial and hardcore without bogging down their taut, propulsive attack.
