In 2012, Jacob Dilßner—best known to dance fans as DJ and producer Wankelmut—held clubland’s everyone’s attention with his “One Day / Reckoning Song” remix. The 2012 smash gave Asaf Avidan & The Mojos’ indie gem a deep-house boost for dance floors and sent the Berlin producer to the top of several European charts. Subsequent flirtations with pop brought him hits such as mesmerising banger “My Head Is a Jungle” with singer-songwriter Emma Louise and “Almost Mine” with Charlotte OC. But on 2020 single “Ayahuasca”, vocals take a back seat, putting Wankelmut’s pulsing techno at centre stage.
