College-radio favourites Unrest were formed in 1983 in Arlington, Virginia, by high school students Mark Robinson, Phil Krauth and Tim Moran (later replaced by Velocity Girl's Bridget Cross). Not only did the band produce more than a dozen albums of experimental pop and genre-hopping mania in the early-‘90s, but they also served as impetus for Robinson's founding of the influential DIY Teen Beat label in 1984, which would later be home to more than 100 recording artists. Officially splitting in 1994, members have since gone on to perform in Air Miami, Cotton Candy and Maybe It's Reno.
