Forget taking it to the south—Bun B and Pimp C are one of hip-hop's most legendary duos period. Formed in Port Arthur, the buzz of two independently released EPs in 1992 was flipped into a deal with Jive Records. An album debut that same year, Too Hard to Swallow, established the UGK template: Over Pimp C's funk sampling beats, Bun rattled off rapid fire flows while Pimp smoothed the blend out with sizzurp spiked raps. A cosign from JAY Z in '99 increased the group's profile, while quality albums continued. Pimp C passed away in 2007, but the group's legacy is straight dope.
