True to their name, irreverent Toronto duo Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker have become a pervasive presence on Canadian modern-rock radio by encouraging harmonious relations between genres that would normally go together like oil and water. But ever since their 2008 single “Hollow Point Sniper Hyberbole” entered heavy rotation on Toronto alterna-station 102.1 the Edge (a rare feat for an independent band), their mix of post-grunge acoustic melodies and booming, scratched-up breakbeats has yielded a seemingly endless string of radio-ready anthems that forge a common ground between arena rock and the EDM tent.
