Saxophonist Tom Scott seems to have music in his blood. The son of television composer Nathan Scott, Scott got his start in show business as a studio musician. He followed in his father's footsteps for a time, composing themes for popular TV Shows like Family Ties and Starsky and Hutch, and eventually found success as a musician in his own right. His solo albums would prove dynamic and gritty with a soul-inflected sound that drew inspiration from Hank Crawford and John Coltrane.
