Tim Finn Essentials

Theatrical and confessional, sumptuous and sly, esteemed Kiwi singer/songwriter Tim Finn has painted a rich swath on the big pop canvas. With the hit album Escapade in '83, his solo path was already zigzagging ahead when he left Split Enz, the iconic art-pop band he formed in Auckland in '72. He dove into film scoring in the mid '80s, then dance and theatre as solo albums Big Canoe and Tim Finn entwined with myriad collaborations into the '90s. With his brother Neil, they included Crowded House and several duo albums. ALT was a trio with Liam O'Maonlai and Andy White in '95. The quirky reflections of Say It Is So and Imaginary Kingdom found the Finnian sparks glowing bright in the '00s.
