Each of The Radio Dept.'s three LPs—2003's Lesser Matters, 2006's Pet Grief and 2010's Clinging to a Scheme—has, in the years since their release, been eventually embraced as a cult classic. Formed in 1998 in Lund, the band have built a bittersweet dream pop sound from twee synthesisers, washed-out drum machines and droney shoegaze guitars. The 2011 compilation Passive Aggressive: Singles 2002–2010 beautifully charts their evolution from lo-fi indie beginnings to their more elegant, electronic productions.
