The Foreign Exchange story is a musical Internet love affair. American rapper/singer/songwriter Phonte Coleman and Dutch producer Nicolay met over the OkayPlayer message boards in 2003. They started trading beats and vocals through email, recording their debut album, 2004's Connected, before ever meeting in person. It was the start of a productive union: 2008's Leave It All Behind earned a GRAMMY® nomination for the track “Daykeeper”, and it marked a run of records smartly mixing R&B, hip-hop and electronica.
