Hilltop Hoods, the country's biggest hip-hop group, proved it could be done, and the likes of Bliss n Eso and The Herd followed, not only saying it loud and proud, but addressing life in their own backyard instead of Compton or Brooklyn, over heavy beats and inventive samples.
