The Flying Nun record label was virtually formed to release their first single, “Tally Ho!”, an infectious lo-fi recording that bursts from the speakers with the gnarly guitar, driving bass and metronomic drumming for which the band became renowned. Through many breakups and reformations, they finally released their debut album Vehicle in 1990 and even though it was more streamlined than their early EPs, they continued to investigate the area where noise and melody intersect.
