After forming as a loungy funk/soul instrumental group led by NZ-born Lance Ferguson in 2000, The Bamboos developed into a premier soul band, backing a range of star singers and collaborators. Guitarist Ferguson is the nine-piece's bandleader and their live shows have a reputation for evoking James Brown's heart and Massive Attack's groove. Kylie Auldist, the band's full-time singer, has a touch of Renée Geyer about her. Daniel Merriweather, Tim Rogers and Megan Washington have also contributed vocals to killer tracks. Groove along to The Bamboos' best.
