Stile Antico Essentials

Specialising in early music, British vocal group Stile Antico bring a warm tenacity to the pieces they study and perform. Established in 2001, Stile Antico work without a conductor and are most on-point in their diligent, authentic readings of such works as Jacob Clemens non Papa's “Egos flos campi” and Palestrina's “Osculetur me”. Their knack for intonation gives them an unwavering sound, notably in readings of William Byrd's Mass for Five Voices and his Cantiones sacrae. And John Sheppard's “Libera nos I & II” are simply ethereal in their rendering.
