Serrini: Hearts Aflutter
When it comes to Lunar New Year, love is all Serrini needs. “Every year, I want to be a better version of myself,” the Hong Kong-based singer-songwriter tells Apple Music. “Evolution is sometimes spurred by negativity. But I hope that my evolution will come from the love I have for myself—to be able to find inner peace and truly love who I am.” The artist rings in the Year of the Rabbit, and the changing of the season, with a playlist of tracks that suggest the awakening of love in the spring. “My favourite song, apart from my own track, ‘樹仔’ [‘Tree Baby’], is Sunhe’s ‘Horoyoi’,” she says. “I think it’s really cute to make the direct statement, ‘I’m not tipsy from the three per cent wine/I just like you a lot!’ And paired with that chill, catchy music, it makes me want to let go and dance in the street.” Serrini also taps into the love she feels while home during the holidays. “I really like how festive the Lunar New Year is. I love to see my family happily playing mahjong. I picked the song ‘Until I Found You’ by Stephen Sanchez to express my love for my family,” she says. “I hope this can be a love-filled time where relatives become better friends and friends become family.”
