Rodney Crowell: The 80s

Rodney Crowell came in on the tail end of the outlaw country movement at the end of the ‘70s but he didn't really find success until the late ‘80s. His 1988 breakthrough album, Diamonds & Dirt spawned five No. 1 singles in a row but Crowell's idiosyncratic blend of country and rock was just as potent on all his other ‘80s albums.
