Deep in Pu Shu's discography lie midtempo meditations on life, ranging from metaphor-rich ballads to rumbling folk rock numbers that celebrate love in all its ephemeral glory. He releases albums at a measured pace, but the tracks resting on the back half of those collections are every bit as rewarding as the songs that first found favour with Chinese audiences.
