Pedro Infante Essentials

Pedro Infante Essentials

There are movie stars and then there are world-class singers. Pedro Infante was both. A charro archetype (along with fellow Mexican gallos Jorge Negrete and Javier Solís), he brought a dose of silver-screen glamour to ranchera in the ‘30s and ‘40s. But he didn't need over-the-top arrangements backing him. Instead, he led mariachi ensembles with the most powerful instrument of them all—his voice—elegantly bending and elongating notes or letting out a grito for the gods. Standards like “Cielito Lindo” have been covered countless times by capable voices, but this is the bar they strive for.
