Paul Horn Essentials
Apple Music

The recordings of the late Paul Horn are a fitting legacy for a pioneer of the new age genre. The American musician began in the late '50s as a jazz flautist, but his career blossomed a decade later when he launched the first of his ''inside'' recordings. A Transcendental Meditation enthusiast, he recorded inside places of spiritual importance, including the Taj Mahal and the Potala Palace in Tibet. By combining jazz with world music influences, Horn created a unique sound that became central to the development of new age music.
