But beneath the jangly jumble of his best-known songs, a shadow spreads out. “Sequential Circuits”, nearly a cappella, runs cascading vocal harmonies over the burble of running water; “Search for Delicious” is a muted ambient sketch; and “Spirit They've Vanished”, with Avey Tare, layers wispy vocals with ear-piercing digital feedback.
