Ornette Coleman: Next Steps

Ornette Coleman: Next Steps

Coming into his own during the '60s, saxophonist Ornette Coleman took the innovations of the bebop scene and ran with them. His free-jazz improvisations were rhythmically and harmonically groundbreaking, and are noted even today for their raw emotion. Incredibly, some of his most mind-blowing pieces are buried deep in his albums along with many of his impressively complex orchestral arrangements.
