Orange Juice: Influences

Orange Juice immediately stood out from their more aggressive post-punk peers, with influences that were downright unfashionable. Alongside Buzzcocks and The Jam, Edwyn Collins and company took inspiration from Motown's sweet soul and The Byrds' jangling folk-rock. Later, Chic and Curtis Mayfield influenced their increasingly dance-driven sound.
