No-Neck Blues Band Essentials
Apple Music
Formed in New York in the early-‘90s, The No-Neck Blues Band is a prolific collective that has willingly stuck to the fringes of the art rock and experimental worlds. All the better for the septet to add dreamy ambient, rotting blues-folk, pulsing krautrock and improvisational jazz into their multi-coloured psychedelic soup without a moment's pause. For such uncompromising music, the group has had a fairly public profile thanks to the aid of well-known fans like sometime-collaborator Thurston Moore and director Harmony Korine, who hired the band to record music for his '97 film Gummo.
