Lou Reed: Influences

Lou Reed was so influential it's sometimes difficult to imagine he didn't slither from the womb fully-formed as an artist. But that's hardly the case. He got hooked early on jazz greats like Ornette Coleman, as well as doo-wop artists like Dion. Reed was also inspired by Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry's rock 'n' roll, Wilson Pickett's R&B, Bob Dylan's folk and David Bowie's glam.
