Last Days of April Essentials

Last Days of April Essentials

As their name suggests, Sweden's Last Days of April evoke the melancholic spirit of gentle spring showers, whether rolling out dreamy indie pop or dipping into languid paisley underground folk. Since their 1997 debut, the group's been through numerous line-ups, with singer/songwriter Karl Larsson remaining the only constant, his delicate vocals effortlessly moving between a drowsy drawl and tenacious emo. The instrumentation around him transforms to match his mood, from the string-infused guitar rock dominating 2000's Angel Youth to the lovelorn pedal-steel Americana of 2015's Sea of Clouds.
