Korean Indie Hits

In South Korea, the term “indie” is applied to pretty much any modern music that isn't high-gloss idol pop, hip-hop, or dramatic soundtrack ballads. Yet contrary to the genre's more underground roots, many of these artists appeal to mass audiences, thanks to an open-minded approach to pop that folds in genres the mainstream doesn't always pick up on, such as country, folk, and alternative rock.
