Disco without KC and the Sunshine Band would've been unthinkable. Led by keyboardist Harry Wayne Casey and bassist Richard Finch, the Miami band created a string of infectious, exuberant and proudly sexy party records. Their first success came from another artist, George McCrae, who they produced and backed up in 1974. The next year brought their own success, with songs all in favour of getting down tonight, putting on your boogie shoes and shake, shake, shaking your booty. Though they fell prey to the '80s disco backlash, they began a series of reunion tours in the '90s.
