One of the most original young voices in American roots music, Jolie Holland lends her sultry Texas drawl and literary lyrics to a sound equally rooted in parlor songs, jazz, blues, country, gospel and rock. A founding member of The Be Good Tanyas, Holland grew up in the Lone Star State, where she experimented with writing, playing and singing music. By her teens she had learned piano, guitar and fiddle, and was performing as a travelling musician.
