While he's best known for making The xx's beats and synth lines happen, Jamie Smith has found himself behind the mixer for more than just his world-renowned band's records. Establishing himself as Jamie xx in 2009, he's produced tracks for Alicia Keys, Drake and the late Gil Scott-Heron, and remixed everyone from Radiohead to Adele. But it's with his own DJing and studio productions, like his debut full-length, In Colour, that Smith has made his greatest mark, bringing a wildly inventive and indie-wise sensibility to the underground bass music scene.
